Tasmanian Broadcasters

Tasmanian Broadcasters is the company behind most of Tasmania's leading radio stations as well as a number of digital ventures covering Tasmania.

History

Although our name has only been around since 2009, the stations that headline Tasmanian Broadcasters' presence in our great state have been around since the early 1930's starting with Hobart's 7HO (Now 7HO FM101.7) in 1932 and Launceston's 7LA (now LAFM) shortly after that.

When the RG Capital Radio Network was sold in 2008, the company that bought the network was required to divest it's holdings in Tasmania, and the existing owner of Hobart's 7HO FM101.7, Grant Broadcasters, purchased all the Tasmanian stations offered, going from one station in the state to nine. With the addition of Launceston's new chilli 90.1fm in January 2011 to the network, Tasmanian Broadcasters grew to ten stations and one several relay services throughout Tasmania making us one of the largest media companies in the state.

Tasmanian Broadcasters is a fully owned subsidiary of Grant Broadcasters, the nation's premier 100% Australian family-owned radio network. Grant Broadcasters' network now extends in to every state and territory of Australia. Find out more about Grant Broadcasters here.
